Angola Prison Rodeo Trip
Since 1964, Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola has been the site of the “Wildest Show in the South.” This unique event was started by inmates and employees of the states only maximum-security prison, once known as “The Bloodiest Prison in the World.” Today rain or shine, the event draws more than 70,000 people annually during the event held on the third weekend of April and the traditional every Sunday in October. Spectators from all walks of life come to hear great inmates bands, sample authentic Cajun and regional foods such as boudin, crawfish and cracklins, shop affordable, high quality arts and crafts from over 800 inmates artists, tour the massive 18,000 acre prison farm known for its cotton, wheat and corn fields, and finally enjoy a professional nail biting, gut wrenching rodeo.

Laura Plantation/Oak Alley Plantation Tour #2008
Laura Plantation is a historic Plantation, built in 1805 where the guided tour transports you into Louisiana's Creole culture. The Laura farmstead is surrounded by fields of surgarcane and 11 historic buildings. The Laura Plantation Store offers a vast selection of gifts and souveniors on Louisiana and Creole culture, slavery, music, arts and crafts, plus cuisine.
Oak Alley Plantatiion was originally named BonSejour, and built in 1837-39 by George Swainey for Jacques Telesphore Roman, brother of Andre Roman who was twice governor of Louisiana. Andrew and Josephine Stewart purchased the property in1925 and hired Richard Koch to conduct an extensive restoration. The impressive double row of giant oak trees which form the Oak Alley, about 800 feet long, from which the property derived its present name. Planted before the house was constructed in 1837, this formal planting is a historic landscape design long recognized for its beauty. Lunch at Oak Alley before the tour.

Rosedown Plantation/Old State Capitol/Bass Pro Shop Tour #2009
Rosedown Plantation, encompassing 374 acres i n St. Francisville. It embodies the lifestyle of the antebellum South's wealthiest planters in a way few other surviving properties can. Over the years the acreage was subdivided and although the working portions of the plantion have vanished, both the house and gardens survived. Near the great house are several dependencies, most notably three latticed summer houses and a Greek temple style doctor's office. What distinguishes the landscape of Rosedown are its pleasure gardens, notable for their size, sophistication and refined plant collections.
After leavind Rosedown Plantation we will go to the Old State Capitol. Mark Twian once said, it was the ugliest building on the Mississippi River. Since the it has been renovated.
Then ist on to the Bass Pro Shop to do some shopping and have lunch on your own.

World War II Museum and Aquarium Tour #2010

After touring the WWII Museum, you will take a tour of the world-renown Audubon Aquarium to see fish and sea life of all kinds. You will be able to get close and see some of the most fascination creatures of the ocean. You will also fing rare and endangered species. Look for the white alligator, just 18 of these animals were found in a Louisiana swamp. In Cajun lore, seeing a white alligator is considered good luck.
After touring the Aquarium we will stop for lunch on your own.

The Dinner Bell Tour 2011
The Dinner Bell is located in McComb, MS. Where the diners sit around large lazy susanstyle tables loaded with large selections of good down home cooking. You simply spend the lazy susan and within your reach are large quantities of comfort food including the house specialty, fried eggplant. When any serving dish starts getting empty, out comes a full one from the kitchen. The meal is served with ice cold tea. After lunch you will have time for shopping at the mall.
